What We Believe

THE AUTHORITY OF SCRIPTURE

The Bible is God’s Word to all people. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. Because it was inspired by God, the Bible is truth without any mixture of error and is completely relevant to our daily lives. We also believe that the Bible is the ultimate authority. We believe that all scripture is God-breathed, that the entire Bible is the story of God’s redemptive plan through Jesus to redeem his people. We believe that the Bible is the main way that God currently speaks to his people, however, not the only way. In scripture we see that God speaks through other means, but those other means must always be supported by the ultimate mean; which is scripture.

THE ONE TRUE GOSPEL
OF JESUS CHRIST

The gospel is a historical event that was planned somewhere in eternity past. Within that historical event, Jesus who is God incarnate and knew no sin, was murdered on the cross for our sin. While on the cross Jesus bore the sins of man, paid our debt and satisfied the wrath of God, which man deserved. Jesus physically died on the cross, was buried in a tomb, and literally rose from the dead three days later. Through this historical and supernatural act of love, God fulfilled his redemptive plan to redeem his children and provide a way for us to live in relationship with him. By repentance of sin and faith in Christ as Lord and Savior, sin is forgiven and you are saved. Your name is written in the Lambs book of life and you will spend eternity in the presence of Almighty God forever. The blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the “only way” of salvation through the forgiveness of sin. Salvation occurs when people place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin. Salvation is a gift from God and it cannot be earned through our own efforts.

THE TRINITY:
FATHER, SON & SPIRIT

God has existed in relationship with Himself for all eternity. He exists as one God in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Although each member of the Trinity serves different functions, they each possess equal power and authority. The Father - is all powerful, all knowing, ever present, unchanging, completely worthy of our trust, and above all, holy. It is in Him that we live, move and exist. God is good: He is our Father. He is loving, compassionate, and faithful to His people and His promises. The Son - Jesus Christ was completely human, but at the same time completely God. He is the only plan for bringing people who are enemies of God back into a right relationship with God. He lived a perfect life, so that He could be a substitution for us in satisfying God’s demands for perfection. He defeated death in His resurrection so that we could have life. The entire Bible is a story of God’s redemptive plan through the one Godman Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit - and his presence assures us of our relationship with Christ. He guides believers into all truth, and exalts Christ. He convicts people of their sin, God’s righteousness, and the coming judgment. He comforts us, gives us spiritual gifts, and makes us more like Christ.

ETERNITY:
LITERAL HEAVEN & HELL

Man was created to exist forever. He will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is heaven. Heaven and Hell are literal places of eternal existence.

MAN IS GOD'S IMAGE BEARER

Man is made in the image of God and is the supreme object of His creation. Man was created to have fellowship with God, but became separated in that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, man cannot attain a right relationship with God through his own effort. Every human personality is uniquely created, possesses dignity, and is worthy of respect and Christian love.

THE LOCAL CHURCH

The local church is the hope of the world when it is a community of believers unified through faith in Christ. It is committed to the teachings of Christ, to obeying all of His commands, and it seeks to bring the gospel to the world. The Church works together in love and unity, intent on the ultimate purpose of glorifying Christ.

SEND Boston

The SEND Network exists to see Gospel preaching churches started in 32 of the most unreached cities in the country. Within this, The Well is a part of the SEND city of greater Boston, which includes 60 other churches in the greater Boston area. They exist to support one another in various forms, believing that each local church is better when united together to see Jesus made known and our cities flourish!

Netcast Church

Netcast Church is our sending church, located in Beverly, MA. Scott and Charity trained here for a year between 2015 and 2016 learning valuable church planting training and connecting with the amazing community of people at Netcast. They were commissioned and sent to start The Well in Nashua in May of 2016 with Netcast's full support and blessing. We continue to have a tight relationship to this day, dreaming and planning together about raising up leaders and reproducing church plants throughout the northeast!
